People who make their living and lifestyle from fishing around New Zealand are the subject of this new collection of photographs and anecdotes. Kirk Hargreaves' outstanding photographs are accompanied by stories, told in their own words by men and women who make a living out of fishing. The diversity ranges from flounder fishermen of the Kaipara to paua divers at the Chatham Islands; and subsistence fishermen on the east coast of the North Island. Their stories provide a rich, often humorous, sometimes gritty but always totally realistic view of a lifestyle most people never see.
