‌Thailand Internship Programme

Undertake an internship in vibrant Bangkok as part of the Thailand Internship Programme 2018.

Applications close on Wednesday, 24 May 2017.

Valuable experience

This six-week internship programme, organised in collaboration with Mahidol University, provides an opportunity to gain valuable experience living and working in an international and intercultural environment.  Examples of internships undertaken by UC students in the past include working in a research role for Greenpeace and in a marketing position with one of Thailand's biggest hotel groups.  There are also many other internship opportunities available, including working as a teaching assistant at Mahidol University or working at a foundation that cares for at risk children.

Unique insight

You will also benefit by living on the Mahidol University campus.  This combined with the internship will enable you to gain a unique insight into another culture, which is supplemented by a series of day trips in and around Bangkok, as well as three weekend excursions that in 2017 included staying with a local fishing family on an island and staying on a river in Sai Yok National Park in Kanchanaburi Province.  This programme provides a series of experiences that would not otherwise be possible, framed by an academic programme designed to maximise learning and growth.

Earn credit

The Thailand Internship programme is open to undergraduate students from all degrees and majors.  Successful applicants must enrol in the PACE295 course organised by the College of Arts and upon successful completion of the requirements of this course will earn 15 point credit for their efforts.  Information on the College of Arts internship programme is availabe at http://www.arts.canterbury.ac.nz/internships/

2018 dates
