Time: 9.30am to 2.30pm
Venue: The day will start in the Clyde car park. View map. Your school will provide transport to the University of Canterbury, Ilam Campus.
In 2016 over 1,000 Year 12 students and teachers from the Christchurch and Canterbury region enjoyed the opportunity to experience university life for a day. Check out the snaps of the day.
Ever wondered what it’s like to be a university student? Discovery Day is your chance to find out. Experience a real university day at UC, from picking your timetable and going to lectures, to enjoying lunch at one of our student cafés.
- Take part in 5 lectures of your choice and see how your school subjects relate to university
- Discover the differences between school and university
- Learn why university study is valuable
- Explore the UC campus with other students
- Find out what’s on offer to UC students.
How to register
Register and pick your timetable online by Friday 24 March. You can ask your teacher or careers advisor to help you.

You will need to select:
- Five (5) sessions and one (1) campus tour.
Before the event, you will receive an email with your personalised timetable with the sessions you chose.
