Te Puna i Te Ora - College of Education, Health and Human Development

Te Puna i Te Ora is the Māori students study centre located at the College of Education, Health and Human Development. Te Puna is available to Māori students studying teacher education and provides study space, access to computers, teaching resources, kitchen facilities and a friendly support network for students. Māori oriented activities and events are held regularly during the year and many students come to Te Puna to experience the cultural diversity of Māori in education.

Māori students at the College of Education, Health and Human Development can gain card access to Te Puna.

Apply for Access to Te Puna I Te Ora

Students can gain access to Te Puna I Te Ora (Te Puna) on their Canterbury Card after filling out this form and agreeing to abide by the conditions of use for Te Puna which are determined by the University of Canterbury.

Access to Te Puna is provided by way of the Canterbury Card and controlled by Cardax security card readers. Building access is managed to provide protection and security to the University community and property whilst continuing to assist in the provision of free access for staff and students. The Office of AVC Māori is responsible for access approvals valid druing the academic terms and expire at the end of the year.

Te Puna I Te Ora conditions of use *

  1. During the hours of 8am to 6pm Monday to Friday, I will need to use my Student ID card upon entering or leaving Te Puna. I must swipe when I enter/exit using the Cardax machine only. I understand that I would take full responsibility of maintaining the rules of Te Puna. I accept full responsibility for any other for any other persons, who gain access to the premises on my student card accesss.

  2. I understand to access Te Puna during after hours is a privilege and that I as a card holder would take full responsibility of the premises during this time. I accept full responsibility for any other persons, who gain access to the premises on my student card swipe access.

  3. I understand and will abide by the Rules of Te Puna

I have read the Rules for Te Puna and I understand that failure to abide by these rules will result in immediate termination of my card access.
