Tuākana Mentoring Programme

The Tuākana Academic Mentoring Programme connects tēina (students) with high achieving tuākana (mentors), who can provide academic advice, support and general guidance. There are three different mentoring options available – one/two-on-one, group and informal.

Tuākana Student Leaders are the face of UC Māori. The Tuākana programme provides Māori students with leadership opportunities, the chance to engage with the Māori community, inspire ākonga Māori to succeed in tertiary study. Tuākana also receive Co-Curricular Record endorsement through participating in the programme.
