Physics and Astronomy
Physical scientists investigate how the world works.
Physics and Astronomy are dynamic fields within science and researchers in the two disciplines have paved the way for much of the modern, high technology society we enjoy. Our teaching and research areas are diverse and we boast many international links, offering research students, in particular, an extensive network and career opportunities.
Physics and Astronomy graduates have a wide range of problem-solving skills and their adaptability makes them sought after by employers. In 2018 we will are offering the new Physics in Industry in Projects Scheme (PIPS) where final year students work on an industry project that has been defined by a client.
A BSc in Physics offers a range of problem-solving skills and gives graduates a sound Science education.
UC's BSc in Astronomy offers broad training in many branches of science, making graduates highly employable.
Postgraduate qualifications are in demand by employers and vitally important in academic or research careers.
Research in Physics and Astronomy is broad in range and involves exciting international collaborations.
