Make a Difference - University of Canterbury Annual Appeal 2018

Rod Carr (Port)

Message from the Vice-Chancellor

Over the last five years the Annual Appeal has raised $1.75 million donated by more than 2,500 alumni and friends.  The Annual Appeal has supported a range of initiatives including the UCMe XL Pasifika Outreach programme, the UC Bright Start and UC Emerging Leaders scholarships, the Rose Centre for Stroke Recovery and Research, and the Pukemanu-Dovedale Centre for Child and Family Psychology. The Annual Appeal has also supported the campaign for the new University of Canterbury Students’ Association (UCSA) building, Haere-roa.

I warmly invite you to join me and UC alumni around the world in supporting this year’s appeal. Your generosity will be valued and have significant impact. The Bright Start Scholarship has helped students like Cleo with her dream of attending the University of Canterbury. Her experience and learning at UC will open doors for Cleo in her chosen career path. By supporting the University of Canterbury Students’ Association’s campaign to raise $5 million towards the new building you will become a lifetime partner, creating a positive impact for future generations of UC students.

The University’s vision is people prepared to make a difference – tangata tū, tangata ora, and our valued alumni and friends can help us achieve that vision. Your support for the UC Annual Appeal will make a difference to our students and staff, as well as the lives of those who benefit from UC’s research, teaching and innovation. Together we can make a difference.
