Originally from India, Sareth moved to New Zealand in 2018 to study Political Science and International Relations at the University of Canterbury.
His interest in the EU was sparked by an elective introductory course, which inspired him to better understand the role of the EU in global politics.
Combined with a personal interest in security and foreign policy, Sareth was particularly interested in the EU’s role as a global development actor. His work on this subject, ‘Evaluating the EU as a Global Leader in International Development’, won the ESAANZ undergraduate essay prize in 2021.
Having completed his Bachelor of Arts qualification in 2021, Sareth is now pursuing a Master’s in International Relations and Diplomacy.
