Gunjan holds a master’s degree in Geography from India and a joint European master’s degree in Geo-Information Science and Earth Observation for Environmental Modelling and Management from ITC Netherlands and Lund University, Sweden.
Her current research focuses on urban forests, which are vital for providing numerous benefits and serving as the closest connection to nature for over half of the world's urban population. Using advanced remote sensing and geospatial technology, she aims to model the ecosystem services of urban forests in Christchurch city, enhancing our understanding and management of these vital green infrastructures.
