Kia ora,
my name is Nathan Jaquiery, and I am Senior Student Care Advisor at UC. I have been a social worker for many years working mainly in the field of ‘youth care’ and ‘care and protection’, more recently I have been part of the Social Work teaching team at University of Otago. Originally from Otepoti Dunedin, I am passionate about social work practice and how change can occur through relationship-based practice. I am married with four beautiful girls, love surfing, basketball, mountain biking, volleyball and making music, and have played in a number of bands in Dunedin over the years.
Registered social worker with Masters of Social Work (App) (Massey University), BA (Otago), and currently a PHD candidate, researching the experiences of young people as they journey out of the foster care system in Aotearoa and move toward living independently.
I am very excited to be part of the Student Care team at University of Canterbury.
