Ma te huruhuru, ka rere te manu – Adorn the bird with feathers so it can fly.
Bula Vinaka, talofa lava, kia ora and warm pacific greetings
Nō Whītī, nō Airangi ōku tīpuna | My ancestors are from Fiji and Ireland
I tipu ake au ke Te Waiharakeke | I grew up in Blenheim
Ko Jason taku tāne | My husbands name is Jason
Ko Brooke tāku tamāhine | I have a stepdaughter called Brooke
Ko Lincoln rātou ko Luna ko Lego āku kurī | We have three dogs called Lincoln, Luna, and Lego.
My career began as a part-time employee at the local supermarket in Blenheim. Prior to working at UC Careers I held administrative positions in a variety of industries including HR, Health & Safety, Insurance, Real Estate, Healthcare, and Engineering. I’ve been part of Te Rōpū Rapuara for over six years, after completing a Diploma in Career Guidance.
I’m a very keen lifelong learner and am often enrolled in UC courses. Most recently I completed a Post Graduate Certificate in Māori and Indigenous Leadership. Participating in UC courses has the added benefit of helping me understand your experience as not only university students, but professionals in training.
At home my three active border collies keep me busy. We explore beaches, parks, hills, and mountain tracks. I like to get away with my tāne for multi-day hikes and am looking forward to walking the Queen Charlotte Track this summer. I also like to relax with Jason and Brooke while building Lego. We are currently working on the Hogwarts castle and the Millenium Falcon.
Book an appointment with me if you need help understanding how your identity is a superpower, which you can activate to achieve your career goals.
