Background
Sam is studying towards an MSc degree in Computer Science. Sam’s research centres on evaluating two different vehicle-to-everything (V2X) communication technologies to create industrial intelligent transportation systems. Using intelligent transportation systems in industrial environments has several benefits such as decreasing accident rates and enabling more advanced automation capabilities. However, how V2X technologies behave in an industrial environment has not been investigated in the literature before. Sam’s research aims to address this lack of research by simulating and comparing the network level behaviour of two different V2X technologies in an example industrial environment.
The research is being supervised by Dr Graeme Woodward and Prof Andreas Willig in conjunction with an international company with strong NZ presence, providing industry experience and focus.
