To enable a smooth and stress free relocation to Christchurch to start your employment with us, we have outlined some of the information you will need to help you make an informed decision regarding your move.
Staff Relocation Policy
New international and domestic appointees may be eligible for relocation support under the University Relocation Policy. The policy supplies guidance towards the level of assistance on travel, accommodation, contents removal and immigration expenses.

New Zealand’s public healthcare system gives access to free or heavily subsidised hospital care as well as emergency treatment. In order to access public healthcare you need to be a New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or be on a work visa that has a duration of two years or more.

Schooling in NZ is compulsory from 6 years old to 16 years of age. In general, the school year runs from January until December over 4 terms. Most schools in New Zealand have a school enrolment zone. If you live inside the zone, your child is guaranteed a place in that school. If you do not live in zone, you can apply as an out of zone student if there are extra places.
