Across the globe, a “climate adaptation industry” sometimes imposes solutions that exacerbate the problems they aim to solve.

Frequently, this comes at the cost of vulnerable communities.

Is the “solution” making it worse? In Aotearoa and globally, top-down climate adaptation projects can increase the vulnerability of communities.

A new assessment tool aims to correct overlooked social and ecological impacts of climate adaptation and address the limits of current audit systems.
