Celebrate Te Wiki o te Reo Māori 14–18 Mahuru (September) 2020
Nau mai, tauti mai - everybody is welcome at UC Puna to celebrate Te Wiki o Te Reo.
At UC, events will be run each day of the week, organised by a collaboration of Te Waka Pākakano, Te Akatoki, UC Rec Centre, UC Puna, and students of Hōaka Pounamu and Kuru Pounamu. Several cafes on campus also have half price kāwhe me te kaputī.
- See the full UC schedule here.
This year we have Te Wā Tuku Reo Māori | The Maori Language Moment, a new and very special initiative that we'll be hosting on Level 2 of the Central Library (Puaka-James Hight building) at 12pm on Rāhina | Monday, 14 Maharu | September. It is a defining moment that commemorates when in 1972, 30,000 signatures were delivered to Parliament calling for te reo Māori to be taught in schools.
Sign up for Te Wā Tuku Reo Māori and join hundreds of thousands of New Zealanders for an historic moment celebrating what makes Aotearoa unique - te reo Māori.
We'd love to have you join us in celebrating Te Reo Māori - check out what's happening at our libraries in the table below.
NB: while we are still in COVID-19 alert level 2 only UC students and staff can access library spaces. Please bring your Canterbury Card as you'll need it for access.
