University of Canterbury researchers are conducting earthquake testing to better understand the performance of a construction technique, called staggered lapsed splices, which is used to connect steel bars in reinforced concrete walls to the steel bars coming out of the foundations. Professor Pujol and PhD student Charlie Kerby recently gave insights into their work which receives funding support from EQC. Read more here.
