New Music Central: Gariel and Boudewijn | Debussy and Schubert

Local pianist Gabriel Baird and talented Dunedin based cellist Boudewijn Keenan will perform works by Schubert and Debussy.

Boudewijn Keenan is an Auckland-based cellist who until 2023 learned with the esteemed Dr Heleen du Plessis in Dunedin at the University of Otago. As of this year, he is a student with James Tennant at the University of Auckland. He has a broad range of experience performing in different centers around the country, not only as a soloist but as a chamber musician, and in various orchestras including the National Youth Orchestra as principal cellist.

Gabriel Baird is a pianist and bassoonist based in Christchurch. Gabriel performs as the associate principal bassoon player with the Christchurch Symphony Orchestra and performs as a soloist, chamber musician and accompanist as a pianist. He also has a variety of experience as a composer, conductor, musical director and arranger.
