About the Event

Join us to discover the array of career pathways awaiting graduates, guiding you towards selecting the perfect study pathway for your future success! Explore and select from the subject areas below:

  • Plus, a session on Debunking career changes

Sessions will feature UC graduates, industry experts, UC academics and other employers. Register now and choose up to 2 sessions to find out more. (Digital Screen will run across both sessions)

Light refreshments will be available from 5:30pm on the night, and information stalls open for you to ask any questions, including scholarships and career advice.

Session descriptions

Arts

The career opportunities with an Arts degree are endless with graduates working in an array of different industries from business owners to creative freelancers, and everything in between. Arts teaches into many subject areas including; sustainability, communications, languages, creative arts, policy and many more. Come along to hear about some of the amazing career journeys from our alumni and where their Arts degree has taken them. 

Business

Come along to explore the evolving world of Business and discover where your Commerce degree can take you. Hear about new career paths, job descriptions and roles in various finance and business fields.

Criminal Justice

Are you thinking about studying Criminal Justice at the University of Canterbury but are not too sure where it could lead? Come and join us to hear more about the possibilities that await in this field! Hear from our inspiring graduates, meet our current students, and find out more about the variety of career opportunities in Criminal Justice, some careers may surprise you!

Digital Screen

Create the worlds we see on screen! Join us to hear from leading experts in the film, game, animation and sound world and what career opportunities are available after completion of studying our Bachelor of Digital Screen with Honours Degree here at UC! We will have local screen creative experts share their career journeys, including Game Developer Benjamin Hart and Documentary maker Richard Lord. Followed by our academic staff share about the structure of our degree, including information about our new indigenous narrative minor and the importance of good storytelling. This will be followed by engaging with the speakers and staff if you have any questions.

Law

Are you thinking about studying Law at the University of Canterbury but are not too sure where it could lead? Come and join us at UC Law’s presentation to hear more about the possibilities that await! Hear from our inspiring graduates, meet our current students, and find out more about the variety of career opportunities in Law and the many other pathways available!

Oranga – Health, Sport and Social Work

Hear from our alumni and industry professionals about the different careers available, the demand for workers in these fields and how our graduates are making a difference to the health and wellbeing of our communities.

Science
