Journalism study options

You can study journalism through an undergraduate degree at UC with a core component of Journalism courses, or do a Graduate Diploma in Journalism. Check out Journalism study options at UC.

HOW TO APPLY
Bachelor of Communication

This three-year degree qualification is a response to increased demand for communication graduates on the job market. It is intended to prepare graduates for work as journalists, public relations practitioners and communication advisors.

The degree requires no background in any specific subject at school and is open to all students with entry to university. Please visit the Bachelor of Communication page for more information and visit our How to Apply page for details on the application process.  

 

Graduate Diploma in Journalism

Is a 120 point, one-year full-time programme aimed at preparing graduates for a career in print, broadcast and online journalism. Students receive intensive training in media ethics and law, digital newsgathering and writing, research and analysis, and multimedia reporting, including basic storytelling methods in photography, audio and video, and for online media. The course is designed to combine analytical skills with practical experience to produce thinking journalists who are highly competent and multi-skilled professionals.
