Master of Marketing
Launching in 2025, UC’s new Master of Marketing is designed to equip students from non-marketing backgrounds with the advanced marketing knowledge and skills necessary to build a career in marketing.
With a strong emphasis on digital marketing, the Master of Marketing will prepare students to thrive in today’s fast-paced and tech-driven marketing landscape. Through hands-on projects, students will apply what they learn and build a portfolio that sets them apart.
The new programme is set to replace the Marketing major within the Master of Business starting February 2025. This specialised Marketing programme will provide in-depth, targeted expertise, ensuring graduates have the confidence and capabilities to create impactful marketing strategies.
Subject to approval by the Committee on University Academic Programmes (CUAP) and Tertiary Education Commission (TEC).
Start: Semester 1 or 2 (February or July)
Points: 180
Duration: 17 months
Study all aspects of foundational marketing, including marketing strategy, consumer insights, analytics and digital marketing.
Insight into real-world issues, drawing on the best knowledge of academics and practitioners alike to help students develop the practical skills necessary to enter the workforce.
Strong focus on transferable skills to apply your knowledge to multiple contexts and adapt in a dynamic market.
Great support, including orientation, pastoral care services, career development seminars, and additional certification opportunities that will support you in realising your career goals.
With marketing a top skill sought after by today's employers, locally and globally, the programme will offer an exciting opportunity to build a new career in marketing, preparing graduates for roles ranging from entry-level through to upper management.
A focus on digital marketing will prepare students for roles in content creation, strategy development, marketing insights, analytics, branding and generalist digital marketing.
The skills developed are also crucial for anyone wishing to start their own business.
At the current time, this programme is subject to CUAP and TEC approval, expected November 2024.
