HOW TO APPLY
What will you gain?

As your UC MBA progresses, you will develop your leadership capabilities to motivate teams and drive performance effectively.

You’ll participate in real industry challenges that enhance your strategic perspectives and gain a holistic understanding of how local businesses thrive in global markets.

Professional development

Exclusive personal development workshops are offered throughout your time at UC where topics include goal setting, team dynamics, professionalism, consulting, stress management, wellness and workplace diversity.

Networking opportunities

The UC MBA prides itself on being a high-touch, industry-engaged MBA with an “Industry lead” on each course. Making sure courses are industry relevant, industry engaged, thereby networking opportunities are maximised.

The UC MBA Thought Leadership series runs quarterly, allowing you to join topical industry discussions. See more information about Thought Leadership at the UC Business School.

Personal development

Personal development starts during Orientation with psychometric testing and training, and continues throughout your MBA journey with, for example, individual coaching sessions during your Agile and Innovation-driven Leadership course, and design coaching during your Creative Challenge course.

Alumni

As a member of the MBA alumni, you will enjoy an ongoing relationship with your fellow graduates. A number of events are run throughout the year, bringing together alumni networks of business leaders and graduates, and facilitating the exchange of ideas and expertise.

Commitment to Continuous Learning

Starting in 2023, UC Business School MBA alumni can enrol into one free course per year through the Commitment to Continuous Learning programme.*

This offer is a first for any New Zealand MBA, giving you an opportunity to upskill the knowledge and expertise that you developed through your MBA study and to stay up-to-date on the latest emerging trends and growth areas.

As a graduate of the UC MBA, you are also able to join current MBA students on the annual international Study Tour.

Stay connected with the UC MBA Graduate Association

The UC MBA Graduate Association is where you continue your MBA journey. The Association exists to bolster and continue the MBA experience via professional growth and personal engagement.

This is accomplished through varied programmes of events. Some events are informal and simply a catch up time. Others like MBA Masterclasses are exclusive opportunities to learn and upskill alongside current students.

The association is exclusively for graduates from the University of Canterbury MBA and its pathway programmes (PGDipBA).

Keep in touch through the active UC MBA Graduate Association LinkedIn page. For more information about the UC MBA Graduate Association contact mba@canterbury.ac.nz.
