How to apply for a postgraduate Mechanical Engineering degree

Step 1

Applicants interested in PhD or Masters degrees should begin by finding a supervisor working in your research area of interest. Information on each academic staff member may be found by clicking on their name on the contact page.

Check out the academic's web-page to see if there is a particular way to contact him or her and what documents need to be sent.

Step 3

Once you have a confirmed supervisor and project, you may begin the application to enrol process.

Doctoral Studies (PhD) Applicants

Masters of Engineering Applicants

  • Then follow up by applying to the university outlined with links on this page

Note that all international applicants for PhD and Masters of Engineering (from outside of NZ) must meet the English Language Requirements.

Conditions for Enrolment:

  • All international applicants for PhD and Masters of Engineering (from outside of NZ) must meet the English Language Requirements 
  • All PhD applicants must meet the minimum academic entry requirements: New Zealand equivalent of a bachelor’s degree with First or Second Class (Division I) Honours, or a master’s degree with Distinction. Applicants from non-UK systems generally require a Master’s Degree with a combined undergraduate + master’s gpa that is equivalent to 5.5 /9

 

Cost of Study

The Fees of Postgraduate Study at the UC must be met in order to be enrolled.
