Graduate Diploma in Science

Introduction

This Diploma offers people who hold a bachelor's degree in a major in an unrelated area the opportunity to study science in-depth.

It is designed to provide a qualification for graduates seeking to qualify for entry to postgraduate qualifications in science, change career direction, or to extend or upgrade their existing qualifications.

Entry requirements

Entry to the Graduate Diploma requires a bachelor's degree, which does not need to be in the same area of study. If you gained your qualification overseas, this will need to be assessed to ensure it is of an equivalent standard.

Acceptance will depend on the standard and relevance of previous studies.

If English is your additional language, you are also required to meet UC's English language requirements.

How do I plan my diploma?

Graduate Diploma in Science students are required to pass at least 120 points from Science subjects. Of these, 90 points must be at 300-level, including 60 points in a single subject.

The Diploma is 1 year full-time or up to 5 years part-time study. You can begin studies in February, or for some subjects, in July – please contact the relevant department for clarification.
