The Postgraduate Diploma in Criminal Justice (PGDipCJ) builds on your knowledge of the criminal justice sector with practical, professional skills in research and policy analysis, biculturalism, and crime and rehabilitation theories.

The PGDipCJ can also be used as a pathway into our postgraduate criminal justice research programmes.

Entry requirements

To enrol in the PGDipCJ, you will need to have either a Bachelor of Criminal Justice (or equivalent), or any other Aotearoa degree and three years of work experience in a relevant field.

Your previous studies must include a B Grade Average in at least 90 points at 300-level.

If English is your additional language, you are also required to meet UC's English language requirements.

How do I plan my certificate?

The Postgraduate Diploma in Criminal Justice (PGDipCJ) is made up of 120 points, with 90 points of compulsory courses and 30 points of electives.

Beginning in either February or July, the programme takes 1 year of full-time study or up to 4 years part-time.

Domestic students

International students
