Postgraduate Diploma in Water Resource Management

Introduction

Managing the world's precious water resources requires professionals to have multidisciplinary knowledge and an integrated approach, involving ecological, scientific, political, hydrological, and planning skills.

The Postgraduate Diploma in Water Resource Management will prepare graduates for a technical and non-research career in water resource management. You will learn how to develop innovative and effective methods for the sustainable management of this critical resource in Aotearoa New Zealand and internationally.

Postgraduate students benefit from the teaching and research conducted by the Waterways Centre for Freshwater Management, a joint partnership between UC and Te Whare Wānaka o Aoraki | Lincoln University.

How do I plan my degree?

The Diploma requires a minimum of 120 points. This involves three compulsory 15-point courses, and 30 points of electives from a specified schedule of courses. The remainder can be chosen from appropriate courses offered at UC and/or Lincoln University.

The PGDipWaterRM takes 1 year of full-time study or 2 years part-time to complete.
