Introduction
The DJI Matrice 300 is the latest addition to the Schools drone fleet. It comes with RTK GNSS (for high accuracy positioning) as standard, has a number of camera options available for it including IR, Multispec and up to 4k video. Sensor options include:
DJI H20 - 23x optical zoom and 200x digital zoom, laser range finder (<1.2km), and wide angle 4k camera.
Micasense Altum - 3.2 MP per EO band (5.1cm resolution at 120m), Blue (475 nm center, 32 nm bandwidth), green (560 nm center, 27 nm bandwidth), red (668 nm center, 16 nm bandwidth), red edge (717 nm center, 12 nm bandwidth), near-IR (842 nm center, 57 nm bandwidth), LWIR thermal infrared 8-14um. Radiometrically calibrated (81cm resolution at 120m).
DJI XT2 - Thermal imager 640 x 512 (@30fps) in spectral band 7.5-13.5 μm. -40 to 550 Celcius. Can create radiometric images and video (SEQ format)
The Matrice 300 has a dual gimbal system below and a top mounted gimbal available for looking above the drone. This drone flies for around 30 - 40 minutes depending on payload.
