Overview

Environmental Innovation

Introduction

Note: This major is currently not open to new enrolments.

Aotearoa has a unique relationship with land and sea, and relies on agriculture and forestry as our main exports overseas. More and more, official policies and practices are recognising Māori environmental values, from the concept of kaitiakitanga (guardianship of the land) to rāhui (prohibition) and other ways to preserve our natural resources.

Studying this major will give you practical skills in identifying environmental issues, so you can help inform government and business, and promote Māori aspirations for our environment.
