Overview

Health Sciences

Introduction

Health Sciences provides you with the opportunity to create positive change in communities that will benefit the health of the population. It examines the non-clinical health sector and areas of significant need in health sciences, including health education and promotion, policies and decision making, health information technologies, and public health intervention.

UC's postgraduate Health Sciences qualifications give health professionals, non-clinical members of the health workforce, and others interested in the health sector the opportunity to critically examine a range of significant issues in health sciences, and to improve their professional practice. Many graduates continue to work within their health profession, while others work in health-related fields, the social services, or local or central government.

Some postgraduate programmes at UC offer interdisciplinary programmes that follow a general course of study in Health Sciences, while others offer specialised studies in particular areas, for example in health information systems, policies, environmental factors for health, nursing, and palliative care.
