Returns

20 November 2023

You can return library items you've borrowed to any of our campus libraries. The exception is high demand items. You'll need to return these to the library you borrowed them from. Learn more about returns at UC libraries.

HOW TO APPLY

Items can be returned to any of the campus libraries, with the exception of high demand items (hourly and daily), which should be returned to the library from which they were borrowed.
Central Library hourly loans should be returned to the Central Library returns slot, which is set up to automatically and immediately return items.  Alternatively they can be returned on the self service machines.

At Central and EPS Libraries self service machines may also be used to return items - please follow instructions on screen as to where to place the items once they have been returned.

Returning library items after hours

Drop boxes are available outside each library so that items can be returned when the library is closed.

  • These boxes should only be used when the library is closed.
  • Items returned in these boxes will be checked in before the library opens the next day, so that any item returned on the day it is due, but after the Library is closed, will not incur a fine.

Drop boxes can be found in the following locations:

Central Library

The after-hours returns box is located on Level 1 of the Puaka-James Hight building, to the left of Oishii Sushi, and is clearly signposted. You will need your Canterbury Card to access the box.
