Archives collection

The Macmillan Brown Library houses nearly 5000 linear metres of archival material from several individuals and groups. They include diaries, letters, unpublished manuscripts, financial records, meeting minutes, and much more. Check out the documentary archives.

The Macmillan Brown Library houses one of the largest collections of architectural drawings in New Zealand. The collection includes original drawings by B. W. Mountfort, W. B. Armson, Sir Miles Warren, Don Donnithorne, Peter Beaven, Paul Pascoe, and other noted Canterbury architects. Check out our architectural archives.

The library houses thousands of original photographs in a variety of formats including 35mm film, slides, glass plate negatives, prints, and digital files. An increasing number of these images are available online via Kā Kohika. Check out our photograph archives.
