HOW TO APPLY
Master’s degrees can expand your knowledge or set you on a new career path.

Broaden your career opportunities with new professional skills and experience. Choose from our range of Taught Master’s (coursework study), Research Master’s (thesis or research project work with supervision), or degrees with a mixture of both types of study that can be completed within 1 to 2 years.

At UC, you’ll learn from world-class lecturers and researchers in an innovative, supportive environment.

Master's degree study options

UC offers a wide range of internationally recognised, globally transferrable postgraduate programmes.

Business studies
Engineering, Science, and Technology studies

You will need to have previously completed a university bachelor’s degree, usually in a related field (or with previous work experience). Some Master’s degrees may also require a minimum grade point average (GPA) in your previous degree.

We also have minimum requirements in written and spoken English language. UC provides online English language courses to help you meet these requirements if needed.

When should I apply?

We recommend you contact us to start your application at least six months before your planned start date to allow enough time for us to work with you on your requirements and to apply for a student visa.

UC’s start dates are Semester One (February) and Semester Two (July).

Depending on the Master’s degree you choose, study fees can range from NZ$48,000 - $88,000 (based on 2025 fees).

Additional costs include a Student Services Levy and health and travel insurance.
