Raising Capital in New Zealand

What will you gain?

This course will teach you the fundamentals of private capital markets and what investors will look for in you and your business. You will be taught by experienced course facilitator Dave Armstrong, who has spent more than 10 years in the world of finance and acted for hundreds of businesses across New Zealand.

You will:

• Understand the difference in types of capital (Equity vs Debt)
• Understand Venture Capital vs Private Equity
• Learn the fundamentals of business valuation
• Understanding Cashflow and business finance
• Gain a crash course in financial modelling
• Learn how to find the right investor and or funder

This course is ideal for an existing business owner looking to raise some form of funding, or someone in a finance role within an organisation looking to better understand options available to them.

Course structure 

Over two days you will go through some of the critical technical aspects needed to obtain funding, as well as taking part in a pitch session with real life investors to test the skills you have learnt.

You can continue to develop and grow following the course. We will provide you with:

• a copy of all slides and links to further reading;
• a copy of a pre-built valuation model; and
• a complimentary private follow-up session with the tutor Dave Armstrong.
