Presentations for schools

25 September 2023

The UC Future Students team can arrange and tailor a presentation on UC to suit your requirements.  Find out about the ones that are already in place that we can deliver.

HOW TO APPLY

Intro to UC Presentation

Audience: Year 13 students (or Year 12)

Format: Webinar presentation presented through Zoom

Objectives:

  • Introduce the University of Canterbury to students
  • Outline what makes UC unique to students
  • Develop an understanding of the degrees that UC offers
  • Understand what to do next if students are interested in finding out more about UC's offering

The Intro to UC presentation is our usual presentation that we conduct throughout the country.  Given the current situation, this would be presented through Zoom - an online webinar platform that UC uses regularly.  Students can join individually and we can have up to 300 people on one Zoom call.

There is also a chance for students to ask questions.

At the end of the webinar, students will be sent a link to complete the Stay in Touch form in order to share their information with the UC Future Students Advisor.

Year 12 Presentation

Audience: Year 12 students

Format: Webinar presentation presented through Zoom

Objectives:

  • Introduce university study to students
  • Outline the differences between school and university
  • Develop an understanding of how school subjects link them to university study
  • Understand what to do next if students are interested in finding out more about university study

The Year 12 presentation is for students who are considering university study - not just at UC.

Given the current situation, this would be presented through Zoom - an online webinar platform that UC uses regularly.  Students can join individually as we can have up to 300 people on one Zoom call.

The presentation aims to introduce students to university study, outline the differences between school and university and how their study at school can lead them into study at university.
