UC’s Science and Engineering Technology Master’s degrees offer world-class education and research.

UC is renowned for our STEM degrees, which can be completed within 1 to 2 years and focus on practical learning in partnership with industry.

Master's degree options

UC offers a wide range of internationally recognised, globally transferrable postgraduate programmes.

You will need to have previously completed a university bachelor’s degree in a related field (or in some cases have previous work experience), with a minimum grade point average (GPA).

We also have minimum requirements in written and spoken English language. UC provides online English language courses to help you meet these requirements if needed.

 

When should I apply?

We recommend you contact us to start your application at least six months before your planned start date to allow enough time for us to work with you on your requirements and to apply for a student visa.

UC’s start dates are Semester One (February) and Semester Two (July).

Depending on the Master’s degree you choose, study fees can range from NZ$48,000 - $88,000 (based on 2025 fees).

Additional costs include a Student Services Levy and health and travel insurance.

Work while you study

Your student visa will also allow you to work part-time while you study, and also do full-time work hours over university breaks and during the summer months.

Stay and work in New Zealand after graduating

You can apply for a Post Study Work Visa after you finish your degree to stay in New Zealand and work full-time for a duration.
