The team consists of members of UC Aerospace, the largest student-led aerospace club in New Zealand. The club provides hands-on experience in designing, manufacturing, simulating, and launching high powered rockets.
Your donation will provide financial support for the student team to travel and participate in the Spaceport America Cup.
UC Aerospace is the first team from New Zealand to compete in the competition and, in 2023, the team won the 30,000 ft apogee category (reaching the highest point of 30,000ft, roughly 10km), and placed third overall - an incredible achievement that is a testament to Kiwi engineering!
This year, their goal is to build a rocket that reaches the exact height of 30,000 ft, with a top speed of twice the speed of sound, and they're aiming straight for the Genesis Cup to place first overall.
