Anthony Romano is a strategic advisor, influencer, and executive leader. With dual Italian and New Zealand citizenship his career has taken him around the world over the past 30 years. His previous positions include Managing Director of Prada Bosporus, the South East Mediterranean Head Office, G.M. of the Luna Rossa Challenge 2007, and C.E.O. of Calvin Klein Europe.
His current position is C.E.O. at Church & Co Ltd, an Iconic luxury English footwear manufacturer and more recently a subsidiary of Prada S.p.A. Anthony was recently recognised in the 2020 Walpole Power List as one of the ‘50 Most Influential People in British Luxury’. Walpole is the official sector body for UK luxury brands that counts more than 250 British brands in its membership.
He’s also a non-executive director and investor for Moffu Labs (a seed funding investment Company, Punting on the Avon Limited, Hanmer Adventures Limited, The Christchurch Tramway Ltd, and The Christchurch Gondola Ltd.
Not only has Anthony been successful in business, he also had a very successful sporting career. Upon graduating at UC he played for the Canterbury Rams basketball team winning two National championships in 1989 and 1990. In more recent years Anthony reunited with a few members from the Canterbury University basketball team, and went to the World Masters Games in Sydney (bronze) Turin Italy (Silver) and Auckland (Silver).
His mantras include: “work and play, hard and smart; luck does not come looking for you, you find and make your own; if it is worth doing, it is worth doing well.” Acknowledging that they have all been said before by other successful people and there is probably a good reason!
