Craig Nevill-Manning founded Google's first remote engineering centre in Manhattan. Craig’s career began with a BSc in computer science and his expertise included machine learning, data compression and computational biology.
His aim when he started at Google was to make the search Engine better at answering questions and searching for products. Since then he has overseen development of Google Maps, Google Finance and Froogle.
His team is now more focused on philanthropic endeavours building applications that can track disease trends or respond to different global crises including the Christchurch earthquakes.
