Tell us a little about Brandsitters! What makes you different?
Brandsitters is a creative digital marketing agency dedicated to helping established businesses get the digital attention they deserve. From humble beginnings working from my bedroom in 2019, to the growing agency we are today having worked with over 70 different brands; we understand what it takes to grow a business and how business owners can have a lot more transparency, collaboration and fun when outsourcing their digital marketing.
What was your inspiration or motivation for creating this company?
Not going to lie, I was inspired by the thought of being able to create a business where I could work from anywhere. Being digital is just that, as long as I have my laptop I can work from anywhere in the world. However, I could have done that as a freelancer. Instead, my other co-founder Elise and I decided that we wanted to create an agency model due to the number of clients we were getting who had a terrible agency/ freelancer experience. Digital marketing can be a dangerous minefield for small businesses with a lot of people who say they can deliver when they don’t have the skills & processes required to achieve real brand growth and the ones who can are impossible to find! I was so motivated to provide a solution that puts an end to clunky agency experiences once and for all!
As Co-Founder and Director, what excites you most about Brandsitters?
There’s just so much to be excited about. We recently underwent a new rebrand and moved into our new offices on Southwark Street. With all this newness we are in the middle of launching our new sales funnel meaning we will be able to provide a solution for more businesses struggling with their current marketing landscape – oh and hopefully get some cool new branded hoodies for the team!
Where do you hope to see Brandsitters going in future?
I would love to see Brandsitters morph into a full-house marketing agency – but that is a long-term plan! For now, we are happy just being digital marketing with the odd fun branding project here and there.
Any fond memories of your time here at UC?
I loved my time at UC, we were surrounded by the most epic and knowledgeable lecturers that really made an impact. Sign me up for $2 rice and an Ekant or Herb lecture any day!
Were you involved in any clubs or societies while studying, and what led to your involvement in these?
Life is all about balance right – so I signed up for the Student Volunteer Army for the wholesome make a difference vibe (I’m all about it), and then of course ENSOC for the social scene!
What advice would you give to a new student looking to study at UC?
UC has it all. Brand NEW buildings after the quake, the best lecturers, and the coolest club/ community culture – there is something for everyone!
