EUENL30NZ is the Jean Monnet Chair held by the NCRE's Senior Lecturer, Dr Milenko Petrovic.
It involves the following activities:
Teaching modules
- To deliver a suite of EU courses that will broaden students’ knowledge and interest in European affairs and especially in the role of the European Union in promoting and assisting peaceful development, democratic reform and economic modernisation of post-communist states in its closer and wider neighbourhood.
- To stimulate and encourage research interest and activities of students (particularly those at 300 and 400 level), and mentor a new generation of EU early career academic staff
- Through this approach, this work package intends to support both the sustainability of EU Studies at UC and the interest in European affairs and the EU across New Zealand

Conference
- The Chair funding supported the 17th Biennial Conference of the Australasian Association for Communist and Post-Communist Studies (AACAPS) held at the University of Canterbury in late January 2025.
