Why did you choose to study in New Zealand?
I looked at universities in other countries, but I felt New Zealand was the best place to get an excellent quality education at an affordable price. Plus I like the natural environment here as well!
How have you found UC?
UC is fun. I feel a nice sense of belonging here. I get lots of support as an international student, I can access the lectures online and the campus is beautiful. There are quiet places where you can go and study and lots of computer labs.
Have you found it easy to make friends?
I started at the UC International College where I was surrounded by other international students from other countries. I was relieved to find I wasn’t the only one who couldn't speak fluent English! I made amazing friends from all over the world. We have fun together, but we also challenge each other to do well.
What do you get up to in your spare time?
I love to go to the gym, do weightlifting and rock climbing, or watch movies with my friends. I also joined the UC Woman in Business club. They run seminars and events, and we also do yoga together in the morning. It's a great way to meet other women who are interested in business.
What’s your business ambition?
My dream is to explore a Hispanic country and discover how they do business. I'm studying international business and Spanish so I can make that happen.
Do you work part-time while studying?
Yes, I work at a Thai restaurant. I really enjoy it. My manager is very understanding if I need a day off to study. It’s good work experience for my CV, plus it's really nice to have some extra money!
What’s the best thing about UC?
The way students are so well supported. I really feel like I’m part of a family here. The staff and lecturers genuinely care about your wellbeing and give you any help you need.
