Every now and then you might require legal advice and assistance. In New Zealand, all lawyers have to hold current practising certificates to be able to practise law. Depending on the nature of the matter, you can access different legal services. Find out about legal help at UC.

  • UC Law Clinic - free legal advice on campus

    Community Law Canterbury is a free law centre which can help with information by phone and email on most areas of law. It is operated by volunteer solicitors, senior law students and graduates, under the supervision of a solicitor. Legal advice can only be provided in person. To gain advice visit during one of the drop-in times listed on the Community Law website or make an appointment to visit one of the centres at Montreal Street or Shaw Ave, New Brighton.
