This is a list of Scholarships that are available for students intending to enrol at UC in the first year of an undergraduate degree in the Business or Law areas in 2025.
Each scholarship has different eligibility criteria so check the details of each one to find out if you're eligible.
We recommend you apply for all the scholarships you are eligible for, as it is possible to be awarded more than one scholarship at a time.

UC Business School First Year Scholarship for Excellence | Purpose: The scholarship recognises academic and extracurricular achievement of students in secondary education within Aotearoa New Zealand, and supports study in a programme for a BCom degree at Te Whare Wānanga o Waitaha | University of Canterbury. Value: $5,000 Who is eligible: First-year undergraduate students intending to enrol in a Bachelor of Commerce. Other relevant information: Scholarship is dependent on achievement of Merit or higher at NCEA Level 2, or an equivalent university entrance qualification. |
UC Business School Enterprise Scholarship | Purpose: The scholarship recognises outstanding students from the Waitaha Canterbury region who are involved in entrepreneurial activities and supports study in the first year of a programme for a BCom degree at Te Whare Wānanga o Waitaha | University of Canterbury. Value: $5,000 Who is eligible: First-year undergraduate students intending to enrol in a Bachelor of Commerce and who are involved in entrepreneurial activities, either as an individual initiative, or through a school's Business Studies programme, the Young Enterprise Scheme, or some other entrepreneurship programme. Other relevant information: Applicants must be resident in the Waitaha Canterbury region and/or attending a school in that region. |
