The Boost Your City Challenge is your chance develop ideas to engage young people with the downtown core of Ōtautahi Christchurch. ChristchurchNZ is looking for innovative solutions that they can actually implement - this is your chance to have a real impact! No specific experience is required to take part and you do not need to already have an idea.
Over the course of a week you will work with a team to come up with and develop an idea with the support of mentors and input from both ChristchurchNZ and PWC. The challenge is a great way to build both your CV and your professional networks.
On the final day of the Challenge, your team will pitch your concept to a panel of judges from ChristchurchNZ and PWC. The top teams will take home a share of $3000 in cash prizes!

Who should sign up?
This Challenge is designed for UC students of any discipline and any level (from first-year to post-grad).
Do I need a team in advance?
You can register as an individual, pair or group. This challenge is open to any UC student – any level and any programme of study. We will organise the teams.
Who is running the Challenge?
The UC Centre for Entrepreneurship, ChristchurchNZ, and PWC are working in partnership to deliver the Boost Your City Challenge.

- Registrations closed: Wednesday, 26th April 2023
- Challenge Launch: Thursday 27th April 2023 3.00pm - 5.00pm in the city at PWC (Departing UC 2.30pm)
- Challenge Speed Mentoring: Friday 28th April 2023 11.30am -12.30pm at UCE
- Challenge Showcase and Awards: Tuesday 2nd May 2023 4.00pm - 7.00pm at PWC
