Have you ever wanted to get your teeth stuck into solving problems from a marketing point of view? What’s your perception of the impact that marketing has on customer experience, business revenue and overall profits?
What is the Challenge about?
The Marketing Smackdown is an opportunity for you to find innovative, different ways of solving problems posed to you. You will be solving problems that the Christchurch business community is facing, and utilising marketing as the tool to solve these problems.
The Smackdown is a two-day challenge where you will be exposed to speakers, mentors and experts in the marketing industry, and required to present your solution, as a team, to businesses in Christchurch.
Not only is there free food throughout the weekend, but you will gain a breadth of skills including teamwork, critical analysis, quick thinking, and presentation. Not to mention the cash prize pool available!
Can I enter as an individual?
Yes! We will create the teams for you - all you need to do is apply and turn up!
Can I enter a team?
Yes! Just get every team member to fill out the online form and email uce@canterbury.ac.nz with a list of your team's full names. Teams must have 4 or 5 members.
Who should attend?
If you’re interested in marketing or want to pursue a career in marketing, this is the event for you! We supply you with all of the information and people you need to get the most out of the experience. (All tertiary students of any level are more than welcome to sign up).

Applications for the 2019 Challenge close 28 February.
When is the Challenge?
Challenge Launch: Monday 4 March, 4pm.
Challenge: Saturday 9 - Sunday 10 March, 9.00am - 6.00pm both days.
