What to expect

Challenge Launch - 2 March, 4 - 6pm

The challenge begins with the launch on Monday 2nd March! UC sustainability mentors will explain some of the key sustainability challenges faced on campus, and you will meet your team for the challenge. The rest of the launch will be all about working with your new team mates, figuring out which challenge you want to focus on, and enjoying some great food!

The Challenge - 5 & 6 March, 9am - 5pm

Throughout the 2 days of the Challenge, you will work with your team to develop an idea into a 3 minute pitch. You can pop in and out to attend lectures on the challenge days, but must be available for the final presentation session on Friday afternoon.

On the first day, experts will work with your teams in a speed mentoring session. This will provide plenty of expert ideas and feedback to help push your idea forward. Towards the end of the day, each team will also have a check-in session, which gives your team the opportunity to run through your presentation and receive some feedback.

Day two is when your team will really fine-tune your ideas and work on your presentations. In the morning, your team will have a final check-in with UCE staff, then have time to practice for the afternoon’s presentation session! The presentation involves each team making a 3 minute pitch about their idea to a panel of judges. After the winners have been announced, you can chill out, mingle with other participants, and celebrate what you have achieved over the 2 days over some drinks and nibbles!

We will provide food and drinks throughout the challenge.

Who should attend?

Tertiary students across all institutes and degrees are welcome to attend our challenge! No background experience in sustainability is required -- this challenge is designed for all tertiary students of all levels.

Do I need a team in advance?

No, we will organise teams for you. All you need to do is register and turn up for the challenge!

Who is running the challenge?

The UC Centre for Entrepreneurship, UCSA, and UC Sustainability teams are working in partnership to provide this exciting challenge.
