Lemonade Stand Challenge

16 January 2024

A 10-day challenge where students will turn $20 seed funding into as much money as they can!

HOW TO APPLY

What is the Lemonade Stand Challenge?

The Lemonade Stand Challenge is a 10-day challenge where you will take $20.00 seed funding and turn it into as much money you can to support the Kilmarnock Trust. You are required to think of a business venture that you will be able to scale on a short-term basis and to cover the costs, if not make a profit. Apply as an individual or with a friend and we will create teams of 4-6.

The Lemonade Stand Challenge is based on the concept of bootstrapping. Bootstrapping is where you are given little money - in the case of most entrepreneurs, none - to begin your venture and turn it into large capital. Gary Vaynerchuk, much like most entrepreneurs, began his venture through the concept of bootstrapping. If you would like to hear more about how it is done, watch this video.

This challenge will allow you to test the waters to see if you enjoy entrepreneurship, meeting new and like-minded students, and might even spark the lightbulb moment for the business venture that you could pursue in the long run.

What are the benefits?

  • Meet like-minded students

  • Get a taste of entrepreneurship

  • $500.00 cash prize for the winning team
